For example, we use premium USDA Certified Organic nuts, chosen for their superior taste and health benefits. Their “organic” certification assures you that they are pesticide free, unlike many lesser quality non-organic nuts that cost less.

For example, our heirloom Peruvian maca is pure, organically cultivated and single-sourced from the highest plantation in the world. We use Indonesian cinnamon from a producer who contributes a portion of sales to orangutan conservation. We use Ecuadorian cacao, certified organic fair trade coffee beans, antioxidant superfoods, premium Tahitian vanilla and even the finest Jacobsen sea salt to give our products the taste that is just so much better than everything else out there!

We Sprout Our Nuts for Health and Flavor

Sprouted Nuts = Even Better!
For maximum nutrient absorption and the best flavor, we “sprout” all of our nuts for at least 24 hours. What does that mean? We actually soak the raw nuts and then dehydrate them in a process that kills harmful bacteria without cooking out the beneficial nutrients. Sprouting allows the nuts to germinate, which makes them easier to digest and increases their bioavailability and nutrient density. During this process phytic acid, lectins and enzyme inhibitors are removed, resulting in a food that is higher in protein, vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
But wait… there’s more. Sprouted and dehydrated nuts also just taste better! Do a taste test yourself and you will see why we spend the time and effort on this process. Sprouted nuts are sweeter and truly more flavorful as they haven’t been shocked with roasting or other harsh processes. Sweeter and better tasting sprouted nuts also means less added sugar is needed to create the JEM deliciousness that all our fans love.

Stone-Ground to Perfection by Our Own Crafters
Stone-grinding is an ancient food preparation technique that to this day is still used by the world’s finest chocolatiers in making their products. It’s the secret behind JEM’s signature smooth texture. We grind our small batches at slow speeds, sometimes for 24 hours or more, adding our recipe ingredients along the way at just the right time in the crafting process. This slow process of stone grinding results in the super smooth blended deliciousness that is JEM!
What’s even better? Your jar of JEM is handcrafted in a small batch production process in our Bend, Oregon USDA Certified Organic production facility. We hand measure, stir, grind, deposit, label and package all of our products. We don’t use faceless, nameless commercial kitchens or contract manufacturers. It’s our team that creates your jar of JEM, and that results in the highest level of food safety and quality control.
